HARD TRUTHS UNWELCOME

These are the things I no longer wish to understand: death, loss, betrayal, insanity, hatred, fear, disappointment. They are events intrinsically connected to emotions that drive my mind and sadden my heart. They are rude and hateful and pull at the core of my body, twisting and twirling until my guts have been turned inside out; all the rawness open and exposed, absorbing negativity and condemnation. I find myself at the pinnacle of integrity where unwanted knowledge has niggled its way into my soul, making a home in a harsh, angry and irritating way. It takes root and swells with bitterness, staining the tattered pieces of my soul with ugly, dissolving me from the inside out. Knowing can be a good thing, but it’s not always the best thing. Hard truths are no longer welcome; I’ve no more room, no more tears, no more heart.
